Day Ten

Today was an interesting day. Each year Karlovac has a festival in which the 2 sections of town, Gaza and Banija "compete" against each other for the biggest and longest burning bonfire. The town also hosts a variety of games and attractions. After our day of ministering in the community and teaching ESL, we were able to walk over for the fun.

Kyle decided to tryout his air mattress for one night.

Jacob and Alex catching a few Z's.

Preparing to move the baptistry back downstairs.

Tomislav jamming with guys. Completely self-taught, amazing musician. Plays piano and guitar entirely by ear. Doesn't read music.

This is what Banija's wood looked like before the fire.

And this is after!

No kidding, this was probably the hottest fire I have ever come in contact with. The locals assured us that this is an annual tradition and nothing has ever gone wrong.

Kyle and his fan club. Literally, we knew none of these girls but they all but knocked him down wanting to get to know him.

The fireworks!
