Day Nine

Our second Sunday in Karlovac once again took us to Duga Resa for morning services and then back to town for lunch/dinner and evening services.

Vlado!

Most in this country can't appreciate the magnitude of this service. While we of course believe that baptism does not save, we also would not see baptism as such an important symbol. For many of those getting baptized this evening, they were essentially turning their backs on the Catholic traditions of their families and signifying their desire to follow Jesus. NOTE: This was the first baptism the church had in 2 1/2 years.

Those preparing to be baptized.

Oscar, an instant friend for all of us.

Celebration!

David and some of the kids from the local orphanage.

Mark treated us to cheesecake! Quite the treat for us, especially the locals.
